India solar boom runs into grid and storage curtailment crunch
India curtailed nearly 11 TWh of solar generation over the past 15 months as transmission limits, inflexible coal plants and limited storage constrained the grid. The unused solar output was enough to power about 10 million homes, underlining that India’s next clean-energy bottleneck is system flexibility rather than project construction alone.
