A phenomenon known as "Christmas light" in solar panels is severely reducing panel efficiency. Experts appear to have found a solution by hacking the panels with special methods. This effect, known as LID (Light Induced Degradation), causes performance loss after panels' first exposure to sunlight. Newly developed techniques aim to minimize this degradation and increase the lifetime efficiency of panels.
