NLC India Renewables secures 900 MW solar project from GUVNL

NLC India Renewables has received a letter of intent from Gujarat Urja Vikas Nigam Ltd. for a 900 MW solar power project awarded through tariff-based competitive bidding. GUVNL will procure the full output, giving the state-backed developer a large contracted addition to India’s utility-scale solar pipeline.

NLC India said its wholly owned renewables arm was selected for the 900 MW project in a competitive tender run by Gujarat Urja Vikas Nigam Ltd. The company disclosed the award to the NSE and BSE on July 30 under India’s listing rules. The project expands NLC’s renewable portfolio and gives Gujarat another sizeable source of contracted solar power as Indian demand for green electricity rises.
