Rajasthan utilities tender 162 MW / 648 MWh of standalone battery storage

Rajasthan distribution companies have floated tenders for 162 MW / 648 MWh of standalone battery energy storage projects. The INR 680 crore-plus procurement is aimed at grid stability and renewable integration in one of India’s leading solar states.

Jaipur Vidyut Vitran Nigam Limited and Jodhpur Vidyut Vitran Nigam Limited have issued e-procurement tenders for decentralized standalone BESS projects at selected 33/11 kV locations. SolarQuarter reports the combined tender value exceeds INR 680 crore and targets 162 MW / 648 MWh of storage. The programme is important because Rajasthan’s solar-heavy grid increasingly needs distributed storage to manage variability closer to load and substations.
