The awarded projects include Neoen’s two Goyder Battery stages, Ampyr Energy’s Northern Battery, Iberdrola’s Tungkillo BESS, Akaysha Energy’s Brinkworth BESS, and ZEBRE’s Dartmoor BESS. The portfolio must deliver 517 MW / 4,136 MWh continuously for at least eight hours during tight supply events, with 3,000 MWh expected by November 2028 and the rest by November 2029. For solar-heavy markets, the result shows how long-duration batteries are being procured as reliability infrastructure rather than optional add-ons.
