Mercom India reports that Grenergy secured EUR 100 million, about USD 117.7 million, in senior non-recourse financing and credit facilities for the Oviedo BESS project. The company says the transaction is the first financing in Spain for a standalone battery project and comes as it develops a large storage pipeline across Europe and Latin America. For Spain’s market, the deal is a useful signal that merchant and standalone storage assets are beginning to access project finance at scale.
