Lebanon seeks EOIs for 350 MW solar and 1 GWh battery storage

TaiyangNews reports that the July 22 EOI covers as many as five grid-connected solar projects totalling 350 MW, supported by 1,000 MWh of BESS. The same exercise also includes distributed dual-fuel thermal plants from 20 MW to 100 MW, primarily using natural gas with heavy fuel oil as backup. For Lebanon, the solar-plus-storage call is significant because limited generation capacity, aging infrastructure, fuel shortages, and grid losses continue to push demand for more reliable distributed and utility-scale supply.
