Cypress Creek secures $3.5 billion for 1.63 GW / 1.9 GWh solar-plus-storage project

Cypress Creek has closed a major financing package for one of the largest solar-plus-storage projects in the United States. The deal is a strong signal that capital markets are still backing very large hybrid projects when offtake, sponsors and project scale line up.

Cypress Creek Energy has secured $3.5 billion in financing for the first two phases of the Steel River Energy Center in Arkansas, covering 1.63 GW of solar and 1.9 GWh of battery storage. The full three-phase project is planned at 2.45 GW of solar and 2.9 GWh of storage, with completion expected by 2029.
