Sri Lanka launches international tender for 250 MW / 1,000 MWh of battery storage

SolarNews Brief

Sri Lanka has opened an international tender for 250 MW / 1,000 MWh of battery storage across 25 grid substations. The procurement is aimed at strengthening grid flexibility as more renewable power connects to the island system.

The Board of Investment of Sri Lanka announced the tender, which seeks distributed battery systems across 25 grid substation locations rather than one single plant.
