The Tumkur-II project will be implemented on a build-own-operate-transfer basis and includes a 400 kV double-circuit transmission line plus augmentation works at the Tumkur-II Pooling Station. Planned upgrades include interconnecting transformers and additional line bays to improve evacuation capacity and grid reliability. For India’s solar market, the acquisition highlights how transmission buildout is becoming as important as generation tenders for unlocking renewable capacity.
